Meditations for Daily Living: A 4-Class Series

May 31, June 7, 14, & 21, 2023

Livestream

Description

If you’re like most meditators, you want to be able to embody the equanimity and presence you foster in your meditation practice, while you move through everyday life.

Afterall, how you show up in each moment of the day adds up to how you experience life and impact other people. Integrating meditation into daily life is the ultimate practice. It requires support, consistency and community.

Join iRest Founder, Richard Miller, and fellow meditators live online every Wednesday for four weeks to learn and practice how to bring the insights of meditation into your daily life.

Each module in the series covers a different practical topic and is suitable for students of all levels:

Week 1: Tapping into Pure Perceiving and Unbreakable Well-being

Be guided in a firsthand experience of pure Perceiving and an exploration of the five inquiries on Being. These established practices help you directly experience the unbreakable, ever-present Wholeness and well-being that is innate within each of us.

These experiences are simple and profound, laying the foundation that can enable you to realize the fullness of your human potential. Reminding you it’s natural to feel empowered, and in harmony with yourself, the world, and the entire cosmos, during every moment of your life.

Week 2: Meeting Every Moment as Heartfelt Essence-Presence

“We each have two hearts,” explains Richard, “A personal human heart, that opens and closes in response to our daily experiences, and what we might call our spiritual, or universal heart, which is always open.”

In this module, you’ll first experience resting “in” your personal heart, then “as” the universal heart center. In doing so, you learn to meet, greet, and respond to ever-changing emotions, thoughts, and sensations, as a fully integrated and responsive human being. You’ll explore how this may look as an informal practice that you engage ‘little and often’, all day long.

Coming to understand that when your human heart does contract, it can be met with the compassion of the spiritual heart that never defends, and is always loving and kind.

Week 3: Embodying Witnessing Awareness Through Life’s Challenges

Most of us move through life being identified as a separate subject-witness relating to the world as separate objects and subject-witnesses. Everything appearing distinct and separate from one another.

When you transform from being a witness, to being witnessing presence, the world of separation dissolves. You can exist as the witnessing-presence-essence that knows no separation, even as the world of separate objects remains.

As witnessing-presence, you have the ability to tap into the innate wisdom that enables you to engage the perfect, authentic response to each situation you encounter in life. Here, you can attain a 360-degree perspective that supports proactive responses appropriate to each moment. Peace and harmony are alive, no matter the challenges you’re facing.

Week 4: Tapping into Your Innate Goodness

Where does everything come from? Where does everything go?

These inquiries lead you to directly realize your “original face”—the Mystery that has no prior cause, underlies everything, and has given birth to everything, everywhere. The realization that everything is interconnected and an expression of Essential Nature helps you embrace, embody, and express unconditional love, kindness, and compassion, while meeting and navigating the inevitable challenges of daily life.
