iRest Meditation Retreat

April 14–20, 2019

Sydney, Australia

Description

Retreat is your opportunity to dive deeply into the invitation that life is always calling you to, above all other tendencies in your life: to awaken as your essential nature, the mystery that can never be objectified, but which expresses itself as your very presence and ease of nondual being and authentic aliveness.

While awakening lies outside technique or approach, meditative self-inquiry is an undeniable portal that supports authentic realization, psychological integration, and spiritual awakening to your innate non-separateness with yourself and all of life.

The emphasis on retreat is upon meditative self-inquiry, which permeates every practice we engage, from early morning meditation to mid-morning meditation, bodysensing, and iRest® yoga nidra, to afternoon meditation, to evening meditation and satsang-dialogue. Each offering is designed to support and nourish outer silence, inner stillness, and self-realization at all levels of body, mind, and spirit.

During retreat you’re asked to put away your involvements with computer, phone, reading materials and social conversation, and engage instead with the deep energies that call you to be fully awake, alive, and authentic. You’re welcome to bring your journal for recording your reflections but plan on leaving behind what otherwise would take you away from truly meeting, greeting, and being with yourself.

I’m grateful to have Fuyuko Sawamura-Toyota joining me this year to co-lead the retreat . For those of you who are new to Fuyuko, she is a senior IRI teacher and Retreat Leader, iRest Supervisor, as well as IRI’s Director of Australia-Asia. Fuyuko will be assisting me in teaching morning and afternoon practices.

I look forward to our time together, sharing the deep stillness and ease of being and what lies beyond, the mystery that interconnects us all.
