Teach a Class in November and Give Back
JOIN US FOR THIS NOVEMBER’S LAUNCH OF OUR
“GIVE BACK & PAY IT FORWARD " FUNDRAISER!
ALL iREST® AND YOGA TEACHERS ARE INVITED!
Has iRest changed your life? The lives of your loved ones? Your students?
In the midst of our 10th Anniversary year, we have heard from many of you asking how can you support IRI and expand this deeply healing, life affirming practice with as many people as possible. Here's how.
This November we are launching a Give Back & Pay It Forward opportunity.
- Host a class at your favorite yoga studio, community spot, or even your living room and invite your students, friends and family.
- If you’ve just completed a Level 1 training you might consider teaching a group practice focused on Intention and Inner Resource with a warm discussion following.
- If you're in Certification, why not teach a class and use this as an opportunity to record the practice.
- Host an iRest evening with a meditation, discussion, and refreshments supporting community spirit and deepening relationships.
Here’s a testimonial of how Shanti Kelley, an iRest teacher-in-training, used her skill to Give Back & Pay It Forward to benefit IRI’s human trafficking relief program. Shanti’s efforts were so successful she raised $860 from a single 1-hour yoga class in downtown Austin.
Let me just say in advance that I am not a “make it happen type of girl.” I have great ideas and lots of them...but sometime they happen and sometimes they don’t. Well, this time it was different and the best way to describe it was…I just put it out in “the field” :)
While on retreat with Richard Miller he mentioned iRest work supporting survivors of human trafficking in the Himalayan Mountains. “We’re sending people over there” he said “and if you can help there’s a link at the website.” I’m not sure if it was the humble way he asked or his mention of “sustained empowerment” to create a system for people to continue to help themselves. But the vibrancy of his appeal opened to an inner message with the words “You know, I’d like to do something to help.”
So I called a fellow yoga teacher to host a donation class for iRest, and then I called the studio I work for, and then Lululemon. Just like the resonance of that inner message so too waves of support and alliance continued to line up. What was the key? I didn’t think about it. I just did the first step, and then the next, until one day it came into being.
Well, on that day 56 people attended a warm, soft, and beautiful evening on the rooftop of Wanderlust Yoga in downtown Austin. The event was themed “Shine On” as an invitation to awareness that we all deserve a chance to shine. We moved, prayed, and celebrated the choices given so easily to those of privilege and together acknowledged the truth of wholeness. We made $860 in that single, 1-hour class that ”just sort of came together.”
In the end, I see that inner message was my hope to bring awareness to the shadow of Human Trafficking, and to IRI as light-bearers working to make a difference. And I think I did just that. I found my avenue of legacy, and with it came grace, sustenance, and ease.
At IRI we’re incredibly grateful for Shanti’s generous donation and thank her for giving back!
She focused on human trafficking relief, but your event would support all IRI activities, including active military/veterans, scholarships, and programs for youth. As part of our global iRest Community, here's your opportunity to extend the healing benefits of iRest to Nepal, Australia, New Zealand, England, Canada, Germany, US, and everywhere we deliver the protocol.
LET’S FOCUS ON GRATITUDE AND OPEN OUR HEARTS TO GIVE BACK & PAY IT FORWARD.
