For it is in giving that we receive," said St Francis of Assisi.
We planted a cucumber seedling last week in hopes that we'll have lots of cool cucumbers this summer. Yes, January is a summer month in Australia. Our banana trees are bowing down with many bunches. We appreciate abundance! We happily give and share with our neighbours and fruit-bats. We receive smiles and thanks from our neighbours and our own body.
"We can do no great thing; only small things with great love." Mother Teresa's life was a fine example of this. She healed thousands in her lifetime and touches countless hearts even now. When we lie down for iRest meditation, we awaken as our innate boundless and inexhaustible Self. We feel the unmistakeable 'iRested' feeling of being nourished and hear our grateful heart singing out "Appreciation" for no reason at all.
As we awaken to our true nature we become ever more filled with generosity of spirit, true compassion and love for all life.
If the only prayer you said in your life was "Thank you" that would suffice. - Meister Eckhart
