Shelly is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work Supervisor with 20 years experience in working with victims of trauma. She received her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Pittsburgh. Her experience includes homeless work, addiction treatment, medical social work, inpatient physical rehabilitation social work, mental health treatment for veterans, trauma, dual diagnosis, military social work, and integrated resilience. 

Shelly began her career in the federal government at the Cleveland VA Medical Center by providing outpatient mental health treatment to military and veterans. She created a Military Sexual Trauma Group for female veterans that were victims of military sexual assault.

She began working with the U.S. Air Force in 2011 as the Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Coordinator at the 910 Airlift Wing in Youngstown, Ohio. She continues to work for the U.S. Air Force as the Integrated Prevention Program Manager at Headquarters Air Education & Training Command, Randolph AFB, Texas.

She is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Supervisor (LISW-S) and she is a certified in the Department of Defense Sexual Assault Advocate Program, Level 4 (D-SAACP IV) and DoD Credentialing Program for Prevention Personnel (D-CPPP), Level 5. She received the 910 AW 2022 Senior Civilian of the Year Award. Shelly is a Certified iRest Teacher and currently teaches iRest at her military base, Air Force Reserve Yellow Ribbon Program, Air National Guard Yellow Ribbon Program, weekly Zoom classes, special events, and to her local community.
