I am a retired science teacher from the public schools and have practiced yoga since the early 1980's. In recent years, I was drawn to teaching yoga, especially in school settings, for both youth and public school staff. To prepare myself, I became certified as Yoga Teacher in 2011, receiving a 225-hour training certificate from Piedmont Yoga in Oakland CA. About 6 years ago I began to study with Judith Hanson Lasater and have since become certified as a Relax and Renew Advanced Restorative Yoga teacher. Through my studies with Judith I became interested in the importance of anatomy and kinesiology in Asana practice both to prevent injury and to find ease in the practice. Five years ago, I was introduced to Richard Miller and the practice of iRest, which I have now incorporated into my own practice and into my teaching.
