Ellen Kenemore, LCSW Ellen Kenemore, practicing as a Clinical Social Worker, has had a longstanding appreciation of the mind-body connection. This understanding expanded when she began to practice yoga regularly in 2005. It took on even greater meaning when she attended a Yoga Nidra Retreat at Kripalu led by Richard Miller, PhD in 2011. For someone who had previously found meditation challenging, the retreat was a transformative experience. Meditation became more accessible to her and lead to experiences of deep relaxation, awareness, curiosity and understanding that continues to be personally illuminating. She loved the experience and wished to enhance her own meditative practice and to learn more about iRest® and its application to clinical practice. She pursued iRest® Teacher Training and completed the Level 2 Teacher Training in September 2014. Ellen offers iRest® classes and is also available for individual iRest® sessions. She has integrated some of the concepts from the iRest® protocol into her clinical practice. Her clinical practice includes work with individuals who are suffering from anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, and relationship problems. Her work also attends to the effect of divorce, illness and cancer on individuals and their loved ones. Ellen’s office is in Evanston, Illinois. She received a Master’s Degree from the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Illinois. .
