Jim is a Certified iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher and a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW). He works for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as a Veterans Justice Outreach Specialist at the White River Junction VA Medical Center in White River Junction VT. Jim also provides trauma informed individual and group psychotherapy in private practice with a speciality in the treatment of PTSD for uniformed service professionals; i.e., veterans, police officers, firefighters, EMTs and correctional officers. Jim is on the faculty of the Engaged Mindfulness Institute in South Deerfield Massachusetts where he trains professionals to deliver mindfulness skills to underserved populations. He is a Certified Mindfulness Teacher at the professional level (CMT-P) by the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA). In addition, Jim is a Zen teacher (Sensei) and dharma successor of Roshi Bernard Tetsugen Glassman, founder of the Zen Peacemaker Order, and a member of the White Plum Asanga, an association of Zen Teachers in the lineage of Taizan Maezumi Roshi.
