Karen Lazarus

My career has focused on health, wellness, and nutrition for over 30 years. My introduction to meditation occurred more than 20 years ago. When I discovered iRest Yoga Nidra in 2012 I was already leading a meditation group for patients in an addiction treatment clinic. Immediately after taking the Level 1 teacher training I transitioned the group to practicing iRest. It was transformational for my patients and myself. I have given a presentation “Yoga Nidra in OTP” (Opioid Treatment Program) at a national addiction conference and at the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. From what I have learned about iRest I believe that this process provides the possibility of rewiring the brain to overcome obstacles that our harmful habitual responses to stress have created. My background is in addiction medicine, health behavior, nutrition and mindfulness. Please feel free to contact me with any questions on my work with iRest.
