Sallamah Aliah
I was first introduced to meditation in 2001 through Buddhist teachings. In 2013, I was introduced to iRest Meditation and I am now a Level 1 iRest Meditation Teacher.
I have worked in the field of Human services since 2001. Throughout my career I have worked with teenagers, adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as adults and families experiencing homelessness. I received my master’s degree in Social Justice in 2012.
I am interested in continuing to explore the overlay between social justice and personal healing. I love iRest Meditation for so many reasons, but particularly, because the practice welcomes in all of our experience, leaving nothing out. And because it is a gentle approach to healing from trauma and introducing one to that which is within us, that has never been harmed.
