Therese Smith, MFT,CYT
Therese has been teaching yoga for 25 years. She is owner/director of Living Tree Yoga Studio, and teaches both locally and internationally. Currently she offers monthly iRest Yoga Nidra Workshops, as well as weekly classes. Her style of teaching is Vinyasa; flow style yoga, linking poses together through the breath, with an emphasis on organic movement, and self inquiry.
Therese Smith graduated from Sonoma State University with a Master’s degree in counseling and psychotherapy. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has advanced training in somatic (body) psychotherapy. She believes “the issues are in the tissues” just waiting to be acknowledged, cared for, and perhaps, released.
Currently, Therese works part-time at California Parenting Institute, where she has helped children, teens, and families recover from divorce, trauma, abuse, grief and loss, and chemical dependency. In her private practice she has helped many people heal through anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic pain, PTSD,and stress-related disorders. She continues to use the iRest protocol, as a powerful, practical process for both her personal practice and assists others in their return to health, joy, and well-being.
