Hi, I’m Angela. It’s nice to meet you.
I found iRest, or iRest found me, during my search for solutions to help me recover from burnout.
When I experienced burnout in 2022 I thought that taking some time off work and taking good care of myself would help me recover quickly.
It came as a complete shock that despite all the selfcare I was doing, my body kept reacting with brain fog, headaches and exhaustion even to normal, everyday stress. Eventually, I realised that I would not be able to return to my old job as a hospital pharmacist. It would take a lot more time than I had expected to heal and to find tools and practices that worked for me.
About a year into this journey I was introduced to iRest. I felt a huge sense of gratitude when I realised that this practice was actually helping me reset my stress responses and energy levels.
I now know that regular practice can reverse physical changes in the brain that can be caused by traumatic experiences, including chronic stress.
I became an iRest teacher because I want to share this simple yet powerful practice with others who are struggling to recover and heal from chronic stress and burnout.
For me, developing a regular iRest practice has been the one thing that’s made the biggest impact in helping me heal. More than that, iRest has helped me develop a deeply felt sense of wellbeing and wholeness that I never knew before.
