Charles “Charlie” Noel is a highly accomplished and versatile professional with 15+ years of experience in the military, government, and private sectors. He has dedicated his life to making a difference in the world through transforming the healthcare system.

Charlie joined the Marine Corps in 2001 at the age of 17 and served in the infantry while completing two tours in Iraq before being honorably discharged in 2005. After leaving the Marines, he pursued an education at East Tennessee State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. During this time, he developed a passion for working in the social service field and earned a Master’s in Social Work. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in philosophy in social work with a concentration on leadership and is pending his dissertation.

Charlie continues to serve his country and others by joining the Tennessee National Guard as a Behavioral Health Officer in 2013. In 2016, he accepted a position working in Mental Health at the Department of Veteran Affairs. During this time, he became the Chief for the Whole Health System of Care and served as the Veteran Integration System Network Executive Sponsor for 5 VHA hospital systems, implementing the Whole Health Philosophy throughout these systems. He graduated from Duke’s Leadership Program in Integrative Medicine, which partnered with Duke’s Fuqua School of Business to provide graduates with a robust opportunity to lead the healthcare transformation.

Charlie is currently working as the Senior Change Management Consultant with Ibility, striving to make a difference by moving the system from a “find it fix it” mentality and implementing a holistic approach to care throughout the system. He has also developed virtual integrative care programs to combine online clinical treatment modalities with complementary approaches such as yoga, meditation, and nutrition therapy.

Throughout his career, Charlie has demonstrated expertise in developing and driving innovative care and payment models that advance high-value care and deliver holistic impact for Veterans and the Department under federal contracts. He has led strategic development for Whole Health implementation projects across five regional VHA healthcare networks and developed relationships with VA Whole Health facilities to implement a philosophy of care while helping develop change management plans to drive projects under this philosophy.

Charlie has earned various accolades and credentials such as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), National Board Certified-Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), and Advanced Change Management Instructor, Prosci. He is also a Preceptor for Meharry Medical College, a Field Supervisor for multiple universities, a Board Member for the Integrative Health Policy Consortium, a Vice-Chair of the Clinical Workgroup for the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine, a Board Member for the TakeCare Campaign, a Board Member for the Veterans Mental Health Council, and the President of the National Alliance on Mental Illness at East Tennessee State University.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Charlie is an experienced instructor and subject matter expert in various areas such as health and wellness coaching, integrative care, functional nutrition, clinical hypnosis, biofeedback & heartmath, mind & body movement (yoga/tai chi), mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), integrative restoration (Certified iRest Practitioner), functional fitness (CrossFit, TRX, Strong First), eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and parent & child interaction therapy (PCI).

Charlie is passionate about making a difference in the world and is dedicated to transforming the healthcare system through an integrative health model throughout the Veteran Health System and America. He is a leader and innovator in the field of integrative health who continues to make an impact through his knowledge and dedication.
