Linda Phillips

iRest Teacher

Linda understands the challenges in establishing a daily meditation and mindfulness practice, especially amidst a packed schedule and a busy mind like her own. Confronting brain fog, ADHD, and other complex neurospicy symptoms often leads to feelings of disconnection, dissociation, and distraction.

Understanding the significance of discarding the all-or-nothing method of transformation, when Linda embarked on her own journey to iRest, she was drawn to the iRest philosophy of embracing the "practice little and often" principle of change. Linda has first-hand experience with the benefits of iRest, having lessened her anxiety and how she reacted to stress through iRest meditation practices.

Apart from her role as an iRest Teacher, Linda boasts a diverse range of credentials:

  • Certified Mindfulness and Expressive Arts Coach
  • Substance Use Counselor
  • Yoga Nidra Instructor
  • Dancing Mindfulness Facilitator
  • Accomplished Author and Poet

Spanning almost two decades, Linda has been deeply engaged in the addiction and recovery field for both substance use and gambling, assuming roles that span from a sponsor, having faced substance use issues herself, inpatient and outpatient counseling, and in the position of Program Director of an addiction and mental health counseling center in southeastern Ohio.

One distinctive facet of Linda's approach is her utilization of expressive arts as a conduit for mindfulness. This was exemplified in her pivotal involvement in the 2022 Clean Ink project, a significant initiative within the recovery community. In this context, Linda orchestrated, contributed to, and edited the anthology titled "Clean Ink: An Anthology of Recovery Poetry and Tattoos," published in 2022. This anthology comprises heartfelt contributions from individuals in recovery and their loved ones. A local addiction and mental health treatment center receives 50% of the anthology's proceeds, underlining Linda's commitment to creating a meaningful impact within the recovery community.
