As someone living with a traumatic brain injury and as a P.T.S.D. survivor, Angie understands the healing and transformative power of iRest Yoga Nidra firsthand. iRest was a life-saving tool that supported Angie in recovering from the physical injuries of an accident and, more importantly, also helped her shift mentally from a constant state of debilitating anxiety to a peaceful, meaning-filled life. Armed with the tools of iRest and this unique understanding of trauma and P.T.S.D. and fueled by a deep desire to be of service to those on a healing journey, Angie specializes in teaching iRest Yoga Nidra for Trauma and Anxiety. Angie is a yoga and meditation teacher who owns and operates Zen Muskoka in Bracebridge, Ontario. She is a registered 200-hour yoga teacher and a Trauma Sensitive Yoga Teacher, having trained through the Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute. She is also a Level 2 iRest® Yoga Nidra Teacher, trained in Mental Health Sensitivity, Mental Health First Aid, and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training). In her career as an elementary special education teacher, she is on the mental health steering committee for her school board and presents nationally on the topics of health and wellness. Angie also loves leading yoga and meditation retreats in nature!
