iRest Yoga has been wonderfully helpful in my own spiritual growth including my struggles with PTSD. It has taught me how to take refuge in a sense of safety in my own body and to experience the sense of peace and joy that comes from cultivating access to awareness and being through yoga nidra meditation. l aim to help others in the ways I have been helped by this beautifully designed meditation tradition.

I was a Zen Buddhist monk and parish priest for eight years in the 1970's and have continued to meditate since then. I subsequently got my Phd with a focus on children with severe disabilities and their families. I was on the faculty of the Dartmouth Medical School and then became a professor of Special Education at the University of California Santa Barbara from 1995-2022. I also write and publish poetry. I've raised three children along with by beloved wife of 51 years. I have completed Level 2 training from the iRest Institute and I am currently enrolled in further credentialing training. I regularly attend iRest retreats also as a way to deepen and sharpen my skills as a teacher.
