Knekoh Frugé, has been practicing Yoga in one form or another for more than 36 years. It all began in 1984 when a moment of kismet brought her to a class at Louisiana State University simply titled “Movement.” Incorporating an eclectic blend of Yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong and more, this class led by Rick Nye, introduced her to the discipline and beauty of profound energy work and set her on a lifelong journey. She discovered early on, without intention, that this practice was evolving her out of a profound sadness that had hung like a cloud over her for her entire life. Where sadness once prevailed she was filled with joy. She noticed the longer she practiced, the happier she became.

Many years later in 2003, once Knekoh was an established Yoga teacher with a thriving Yoga  practice at her studio, Yoga Circle Downtown in Los Angeles, a woman named Patty Berman, walked through her studio door with chronic neck and shoulder pain and a dysfunctional painful arm. This was a result of an untreated injury suffered as a teenager that had steadily gotten worse over the last 40 years. Patty was in a desperate state as now the pain was becoming overwhelming and taking her to dark places of desperation. Ultimately, Knekoh was able, using her intuition and all she’d learned over the previous 20 years to help Patty to a pain free existence. This journey Knekoh took with Patty has been well documented in several articles and was the beginning of Knekoh’s Therapeutic journey. Impressed with the power of this practice and wanting to learn ever more she began a quest of knowledge she is still traveling today. She’s been certified in Therapeutic Yoga with Cheri Clampett-Borda and Arturo Peale, is a graduate of the prestigious Yoga Therapy program at Loyola Marymount University, a credentialed Yoga therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists and most recently a Level 1 Certification in iREST Yoga Nidra.

Knekoh’s Therapeutic Yoga path has allowed her to work with a variety of clients suffering through chronic physical and mental pain as well those suffering a laundry list of diseases that affect both old and young alike such as Cancer, MS, Parkinson’s and Rhabdomyolysis.

Knekoh believes these seemingly miraculous recoveries are not miracles at all but are part of the human experience we are only beginning to tap into in the modern world. We know the old saying “So you think, so you are”. If we think we are dis-eased we are, but if we think health, we achieve health. Yoga is the guiding light the shows the way!
