Leah believes that yoga is for everyone and that making the practice adaptable and accessible is one of the most important roles that a yoga teacher has. She is a 500 hr E-RYT YACEP. She began teaching yoga Nidra in 2018 and after reading all of the iRest books and listening to audio files, she decided that becoming an iRest teacher was an important step for her to take so that she could gain the knowledge and skills to help others on their path. Leah is an iRest level 2 teacher and holds classes for military veterans, active duty service members, and their families through organizations dedicated to such causes. Her passion in life is helping others to feel connected to themselves and find joy in their health and wellness. She graduated from her 500-hour advanced teacher training with a focus on trauma-informed therapeutic yoga and meditation practices. She believes that yoga is for everyone and enjoys leading both yin and yang style practices. From strong and heated vinyasa to deeply meditative and restorative practices, she enjoys teaching a diverse range of classes. When you take one of her classes, expect to have deeper roots of yoga woven into the theming of the class. Sometimes this is through storytelling and mantra, while other times it is incorporating mudras and exploring more focused pranayama. Each class is unique and led with authentic love. She loves facilitating an environment that supports curiosity and playfulness in her students’ practices. Leah has a bachelor’s degree in healthy lifestyle coaching and a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling. She works at a busy counseling center working with those recovering from trauma as well as with a non-profit organization where she co-leads PTSD recovery programs for disabled veterans. Teachers that she has studied under and who have influenced her teaching include Leslie Kaminoff, Doug Keller, Gary Kraftsow, Jason Crandall, Joe Taft, Michael Johnson, and Shala Worsley.
